The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Green Committee

Friday, May 18th, 2007

The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce has formed a Green Committee because of an overwhelming response from members regarding conservation and becoming more involved with protecting the environment. There are 6 sub committees that make up the Green Committee. Law, regulation and compliance; real estate development and construction;architecture and engineering; education and leadership; cost savings; environmental concern. Kathy Beliveau, Sales and Marketing Manager for LighTec, Inc., has been appointed as the Team Leader for the Cost Savings Sub-Committee and will serve as an advisory board member of the sector groups.

Some of the concerns of the sub-committee are: create and sustain a centralized resource center, publicize testimonials, and best practices. Add a “Green” overlay to BizFest and Infrastructure Summit, develop and manage resources, review other resources that can educate about cost savings practices.

A BLOG has been established on the LighTec website for the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Green Committee to allow discussion about what resources are available to New Hampshire businesses that will assist them with becoming better stewards of the environment.
